LaBeouf Joining Douglas in Wall Street Sequel

Variety reports that 20th Century Fox has signed Oliver Stone to return as director of the sequel to his 1987 hit Wall Street.

Shia LaBeouf ("Transformers" films) is negotiating to join Michael Douglas, who won an Oscar for his portrayal of Gordon Gekko in the original film. The sequel will once again involve a young Wall Street trader, and the recent economic meltdown spurred by rampant greed and corruption will fit prominently into the plot.

Allan Loeb wrote the script. Edward R. Pressman is back as producer.

YA it does, considering what has happened in the economy, so much of the problem has ben greed, if it is a good script, do it! I will be there.

Shia's a great actor, probably the next Tom Cruise or Dustin Hoffman. But other than the timing i don't really see the point of a sequel

I agree that it should be made. Its funny too cause I have thought about Gordon Geckos "Greed is good" line several times since this whole meltdown took place. And you know for some of my peers they really worshipped this movie and that philosophy. In the 80's that really was the prevailing economic philosophy wasnt it? and the 90's and well you know the rest of that story.

YES, this NEEDS to be made. This will be excellent commentary 10-50 years from now and it could easily stand on its own.

La*****? No way I'm seeing this if that hack is in this. Can't believe Stone would even consider working with him.

People need to stop hiring LaBeouf. He's an obnoxious idiot!
