Interview: The Dark Side of Laurie Strode

April 10, 2009

ShockTillYouDrop.com visited the Newborn, Georgia set of Rob Zombie's Halloween sequel, H2, this week and talked to Scout Taylor-Compton about reprising her role of Laurie Strode. Dimension Films is planning to release the film on August 28. Here's an excerpt:

"The first time I heard about Halloween 2, there were two French directors [Inside's Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury] doing it and I was hesitant," she admits. "Then Rob e-mailed me and said, 'Hey, I'm doing this film but don't tell anybody, it hasn't been set down yet.' Then he called me and said, 'We're doing this,' and I hadn't read the script until the day before I was leaving. All he said was 'Be ready to kick ass.' I had no idea what the script was about until I read it on the plane. I had no idea what Laurie was going to go through, then I was like 'Holy sh*t, this movie's about me.' I guess I got to be prepared."

The fist Halloween Zombie did was badass. This one will as well. I like the idea that Mike won't be wearing the mask throughout 70% of the movie.

Not a fan of the 1st one and after hearing about the lack of mask through most of the movie, this does not sound much better. Why take away the most iconic aspect of the Halloween mythos. What made the original so good was that there was no reason behind the evil of Michael Meyers...he was just flat out evil. Well Zombie took care of that one.
Also, why does every character in a Zombie movie basically have to be backwards, low life, foul mouthed trailer trash?

there all trashy cause deep down we all are when the cercumstances are what they are.we become what we are.dont hate on it just dont go see it ,i dont understand, not everyone can get there way specially when its not your project,so shut down yourselfs and worry about yourself instead of others, zombie has got this under control

I think the mask 70% is a good thing, or else people will get tired of seeing Michael with the mask for the whole movie.
Yes I know the old movies were like that, but it's a different audience in this era.
I've never liked Zombie's movies... but I think he did a fabulous job with Halloween 1.

Im definately a big fan of zombies halloween, I think its by far one of the best horror remakes thats out there. but when I heard that Michael Meyers wasnt going to be wearing the mask for 70% of film I got really pissed, I dont know what zombie is thinking but hopefully he does it justice and it will be good, but still be on the ****in mask, thats michael meyers damnit!!
