Murphy and Zayas Board Sly's Expendables

Brittany Murphy and David Zayas have joined the cast of The Expendables, Sylvester Stallone's action-adventure being produced by Nu Image/Millennium Films, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The film, which stars Stallone, Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Eric Roberts, Charisma Carpenter and Giselle Itie, follows a team of mercenaries who head to South America on a mission to overthrow a dictator.

Murphy will play Rourke's girlfriend, a singer. The part calls for her to perform a musical number. Zayas will play the dictator.

Stallone wrote the screenplay and is directing the film, which began production this week in Brazil. The production also will film in Louisiana.

This movie sounds really cool. I usually try not to think of what will happen in the movie so that i wont be dissapointed but i can't help but think of where Sly is bringing this. I mean the dude wrote Rocky so it's not impossible that this will be good. I remember hearing that when Rocky came out Roger Ebert said Sly will be the next Marlon Brando.

Dolph is still in the film....he just did an interview last week and said he is going to the Louisiana set in May...dunno why Comingsoon.net leaves him off,...even The hollywood reporter mentioned him!
