Gemma Arterton Set for Clash of the Titans

Empire magazine reports that Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace, upcoming Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time) will star opposite Sam Worthington in the Louis Leterrier-directed Clash of the Titans.

Arterton will play the demi-goddess Io. "My part is... the coolest part," she said. "Io's not in the original film. Perseus falls in love with her and then [CENSORED FOR TINY SPOILER]. It's a really great part."

Arterton adds that compared to the 1981 original Harry Hamlin film, this one is "much more about Perseus' mission, and how he deals with being the son of Zeus."

Warner Bros. Pictures is eyeing a March 26, 2010 release for Clash of the Titans.

I need to see 007 QOS again, cause I don't remember her. Shes pretty so I'm kind of surprised. The original COTT is an amazing movie. I highly doubt they'll be able to recreate the terror that the original Medusa had. She's super freaky, with the jerky Stop Motion animation. Seriously, like something out of a nightmare. But many parts will be amazing to see with the advances in visual effects. Kind of stoked on this.

I LOVED CLASH OF THE TITANS! I'll go see a new version even if it sucks. Medusa was scary as hell in the original.

Man, the one thing that still freaks me out about Medusa in that movie is the close up of the eyes. Hope we get a similar scene like that in trhis one. Looking foward to this, now if thay could make Conan I'd be set.

Gemma played Agent Fields, the one that Bond hooks up with shortly before he goes spelunking with the other chick. She's also the one who distracts that bad dudes henchmen as Bond and the Russian chick escape the party. Oh, and she is super fly. Gemma naked-rear-shot FTW!

So glad it's getting an update the original was good but it's very very very dated.

and as for her role in 007 QOS she was wasted in that movie she could have been the new money penny but no they had to kill her off after she gets about 5 minutes of screen time Broccoli is an idiot.
