Rhys Ifans Joins Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Rhys Ifans announced on "Friday Night with Jonathan Ross" that he will play a role in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, though he did not reveal which character he'll play. You can watch the interview below - he starts talking about "Harry Potter" at the 5:55 minute mark:

Its only a rumor right now but they say he is playing Luna's father Xenophilius Lovegood.

Xenophilius is a great guess and he actually looks the part. He's smaller than I imagined Scrimgeor, I always imagined a man of stature and muscle. Not a mountain but enough so that they showed through a suit a bit withis his arms folded. And a beard and hair set so that it almost resembled a lions mane.

Holy crap. I always imagined Scrimgeor as Alan Moore...

He'd be good as Mr. Lovegood. Personally if they don't get Bill Nighy to be in it, it'll be a tragedy. He's a perfect Scrimgour.

he is playing Xenophilius Lovegood. It's been spoiled in the other Harry Potter site. I can see that especially with his comedic background.
