Adam Scott (Step Brothers) has signed on to star alongside Amy Adams and Matthew Goode in Spyglass' romantic comedy Leap Year, reports Variety.

The story centers on a young woman who travels to Dublin to propose to her boyfriend (Scott) on Leap Day. When weather forces her to veer off course, she enlists a cynical Irish innkeeper (Goode) to join her on a cross-country trip.

Anand Tucker directs from a script by Harry Elfont and Deb Kaplan. Shooting begins this month in Ireland.

Again another flop. No good romantic comedies made in two years. Only wedding crashers and 40 year-old virgin showed any quality. Hollywood writers killing a genre.

@cornhole:

Neither of those were romantic comedies.

How was Wedding Crashers and 40 year old... not romantic comedies????

Both obeyed the formula both of boy meets girl, loses girl etc and were marketed as such.

What would you call them? Gangster movies.

Plot sounds oddly similar to Forces of Nature. But if Amy Adams is in it, it's worth seeing.

There have been plenty of good romantic comedies over the past two years. P.S. I Love You, Definitely Maybe, both did solid box office and were well-made for their target audience that cornholio obviously isn't. SO much ignorance.

Ask anybody if they liked Definately Maybe or P.S. I love You Carlos. You won't find many takers.

Compare these movies to the comedies of Apatow or the makers of Wedding Crashers and the truth speaks for itself.

I hope you enjoy the upcoming meaningless cliche trash of 'Awful Truth' and 'The prospal'. Romantic comedies need rebooted.
