Kevin Smith to Direct a Couple of Dicks

erc BoxOffice reports that Kevin Smith has signed on to direct the comedy Couple of Dicks, which Warner Bros. Pictures is targeting for a January 29, 2010 release.

Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan ("30 Rock") will star in the comedy as two veteran LAPD detectives who attempt to track down a stolen, mint-condition, 1952 baseball card.

Robb and Marc Cullen wrote the script.

Wow, anybody else notice that this will be the first Kevin Smith film not written by Smith. I mean, that's weird, cuz even he says he more of a writer than a director. That sort of bothers me, though I'll still check it out.

I agree with Lil' Lebowski, he's said he was going to do "Red State" next, and a Smith horror film intrigues me.

Wow, Kevin Smith's directing a movie with a title that sounds like it was created by a couple of giggling 13 year-olds. Shocker.

The guy's becoming irrelevant faster than Joe the Plumber. He needs to grow the hell up or just go away.

Wow. Directing, not writing. Probably also gonna be PG-13. Sounds like a flick that you'll see in CVS on DVD in about three years from now for $6.
