Keira Knightley will star in the sci-fi thriller Never Let Me Go for Fox Searchlight Pictures, reports Variety.

Mark Romanek (One Hour Photo) will direct the cloning-themed film, which will also star Andrew Garfield and Carey Mulligan.

Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich are producing through their London-based DNA Films. Alex Garland, who wrote the screenplay, is producing as well. Film 4 is also involved as a producer.

The film is set to shoot in April in London and Norfolk, England.

This sounds interesting. I hope this helps to break Keira out of her Victorian era type cast, cause i like her alot but its all she's ever in!

(except for domino, but i heard that sucked, idk)

This is the exact same premise as the 2005 Michael Bay film The Island!

I recommend you read the book this is based on by Kazuo Ishiguro. Really good, and nothing like "The Island."

Couldnt agree more CNU. Hopefully she stays away from old fashioned **** from now on. Other than Domino and a few other indie films, I can't think of anything else she's done.

it really dos sound cool... and it would be good for keira to do something else then period movies... and i hope they let Mark Romanek stay on the picture... it would be sorry if they pulled a wolfman on him... he is truly a great director...

lets see what the future brings...

Not a "thriller", nothing like "The Island" - just to let you know! Feel like I read a different book!

One of my favorite novels and one of my least favorite actors. She just doesn't fit the character in the book, either. I was just wondering what happened to Alex Garland, after rewatching the Beach this weekend.
