Warner Home Video will release Watchmen: Tales of the Black Freighter & Under the Hood on DVD and Blu-ray March 24th (more details), and MTV has a first look at the new trailer today. You can watch it below or in High Definition here.

...wow. That looks like utter crap. I'm a huge fan of the comic, and this garglemesh has some of the worst animation I've ever seen. Seriously, this looks like a low-quality 80s anime film.

What a disaster.

hey jeremiah if u have read the comic then u know they used the same animation as they did in the comic and zack snyder goes whats with in the book if u ever seen the trailers so don't waste your time typeing out something bad when everyone knows that tales of the black freighter looks awesome

When i read the novel i could care less for this story to tell you the truth. But i see this and it look's like they could of done way better, but i wanna see it! It has the feel of the comic which i loved. Also "Under The Hood"? Yes am in...Can't wait 'til this is in the movie to complete the "Watchmen" world.

I'm just glad they didn't try to make it look like Beowulf or Polar Express or something lame like that. I'm more than willing to give it a shot.

I would say YES Jeremy is an idiot, and @jason, I'm not positive, but I think they actually did make this a full length thing. Could be wrong though, it's been known to happen. I think it will be release on DVD or something like that along with Under the Hood.

This looks spot on to what is in the GN. Will be really cool if it is the full story animated like that.
