First Thoughts: Sam Raimi's Drag Me to Hell

January 28, 2009

Last night, ComingSoon.net's horror arm ShockTillYouDrop.com got a chance to attend a test screening of director Sam Raimi's new horror film, Drag Me to Hell, hitting theaters on May 29. Written by Sam and his brother Ivan, the Universal release stars Alison Lohman, Justin Long, Lorna Raver, Jessica Lucas, David Paymer and Dileep Rao. It is original tale of a young woman's desperate quest to break an evil curse.

Awesome. I thought it was going to suck horribly and disappear, but this might actually be a great horror flick. If the Ring can make PG-13 scary, I'm sure the master Sam Raimi can as well.

I like the fact that it's an "original tale", ya don't hear that too often these days.

Incredibly excited for this now. There's raves all over the place too! If Raimi's this recharged now, I wonder if he should really do another Spidey flick (it could be good this time) or if he should go on to other things.

I saw the screening last night. The movie was awesome reminded me of Sam Raimi's Evil Dead days.
