Got Koumpounophobia? Don't Watch this Coraline Trailer!

Borders is featuring a cool new trailer with Coraline author Neil Gaiman talking about koumpounophobia, the fear of buttons! Written and directed by Henry Selick (The Nightmare Before Christmas), the 3D animated film features the voices of Dakota Fanning, Teri Hatcher, Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders and Ian McShane. Focus Features releases Coraline in theaters on February 6.

That's wonderful. The part where the eyes are being cut off and the mouth sliced open was just wonderfully horrible.

Creepy movies like this is the reason children grow up to be serial killers and rapists. We would have far less problems if dark and disturbing elements were not blended with juvenile genres targeted specifically at children. How many more people do we need to instill with psychological trauma and nightmares?

Yes, because no child ever delighted at the telling of a horror story by the fireside.

Because children have weak fragile psyches and society should shield them from the horrors of life so that they might face them, unprepared as adults.
Life shouldn't be painted as all rainbows and daisies, and children don't really like it when we do. Some of my favorite childhood memories stem from moments spent adsorbing the macabre. I mean who grew up not liking the Addam's Family?

Books/Movies like Coraline aren't about terrifying children and leaving them hopeless. They're about triumph over the things that scare us.

As the quote goes in the beginning of the book this film is based upon.

man i was thinking the film was being major distribution. Cause lets be true full here, focus ain't recognizable, or mainstream.
