New Thor Character Rumor

How exactly does Marvel's God of Thunder Thor come to earth in preparation for The Avengers? IESB.net might have the answer. The site says:

A reliable source tells the IESB that the character of Donald Blake has been added to the end of the script. Let me reiterate that he wasn't there before, the script was set entirely in the land of the Norse Gods.

The introduction of the character is essential to how Marvel will tie Thor into the Avengers that is set in contemporary Tony Stark/Hulk timeframe. It explains how the actual Thor film will be set in the ancient time of the Norse Gods and how they will subsequently bring the character into a modern time with Donald Blake discovering the magical Norse hammer Mjolnir and turning into Thor.

The site adds that Thor director Kenneth Branagh will have an acting part in the film as well.

Thor is coming to theaters on July 16, 2010 and The Avengers a year later on July 15, 2011.

Kenneth Branagh, like Jon Favreau, has that same habit of being in his own movies.

I just hope he doesn't pull a stunt and play Blake himself.

they should play thor like
a homeless hippy dude that
talk about being a God and every
one thinking he is nuts..
that would go perfect in the
iron man/hulk realism.

I don't know if you have read the Ultimates, The manipulator, but that is exactly how the portray Thor in that, they leave it open like maybe he is a god, or maybe he is just a crazed hippy that uses illusions and chance to make the character. I know they won't though, so i am kind of nervous how this will play out... interesting that the whole movie will be an ancient tale that takes place in asgard (sp?) then ends with the real world thor, just like we have heard that the captain America film will be a WWII film ending with him being frozen and awoken...

im pumped non the less

Now i'm a fan of comic books. Not die hard but i enjoy them. All i have to say that there is a handful of Superheroes that could possibly work and have any relatablity/relevance. This has box office bomb all over it.

Yeah I could see Triple H as thor, he is actually a pretty good actor. if youve watched him in blade 3 he is very believable and in wwe, he is the best at acting out there little soap operas...i still say they need to go ahead and get this rolling or it wont be ready by 2010

Im still saying keifer sutherland should be thor. Or Karl Urban would be a good choice if only he could act his way out of a wet paper bag.
