Fox to Seek Order Delaying Watchmen Release

An attorney for 20th Century Fox says the studio will continue to seek an order delaying the release of Watchmen, according to The Associated Press.

U.S. District Court Judge Gary Feess last week agreed with Fox that Warner Bros. had infringed its copyright by developing and shooting the film, scheduled for release March 6.

Feess said Monday he plans to hold a trial Jan. 20 to decide remaining issues.

Fox claims it never fully relinquished story rights from its deal made in the late 1980s, and sued Warner Bros. in February. Warner Bros. contended Fox isn't entitled to distribution.

Warner Bros.' attorney said Monday he didn't know if an appeal was coming, but thinks a trial is necessary and a settlement unlikely.

Fox is just doing what any other business would do. Hell i would have waited to sue them too. they just finished a fox film. I put most of the blame on WB.

OK GUYS.. IF YOU BEEN WAITING FOR THE WATCHMEN TO COME OUT.
IT IS TIME TO BOYCOTT FOX AND ANY MOVIE THEY HAVE COMING OUT, INCLUDING WOLVERINE MOVIE.
THESES GREEDY SNEAKY LOSERS AT FOX NEED TO BE TAUGHT A LESSON.
THIS IS SO MESSED UP. THIS JUDGE MUST OF BEEN ON CRACK WHEN HE RULED ON CHRISTMAS EVE.

What a bunch of idiots all the way around. WB knew it was being sued by FOX over the rights before a the movie was even made. It was filmed in the spring of last year showing a teaser at Comic Con last summer. WB should have settled any possible dispute before anything was filmed. That way we would'nt be in this predicament now. FOX has every right to stop this film from being released. They started their lawsuit a year ago and it was just decided on Dec. 24th. Everyone is acting like FOX just tried to stop this thing a couple of weeks ago. It's just bad timing considering the film is ready for release and probably will be pulled and delayed for who knows how long? I hope it does'nt get pulled. It looks to be a really good movie and I am very interested in seeing what Zack Synder has done. Oh well, we will all have to wait a few more weeks for a more definite court release.
