The poster for the Golden Globes has been revealed (see below). Here is HFPA's press release on the poster:

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association Board of Directors has chosen the official poster of "The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards."

Los Angeles artist Colin McGreal completed the poster in association with Famous Frames. The vibrant artwork features the world's most famous golden orb flanked by parallel rows of palm trees that give a sense of the iconic Los Angeles setting for the event recognized worldwide as "The Party of the Year."

The poster will be distributed to the 1300 guests attending "The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards" on Sunday evening, January 11 at The Beverly Hilton.

"We are eagerly anticipating our 2009 Golden Globe Awards with many of the entertainment industry's most talented actors and filmmakers celebrating some of the year's finest work in motion pictures and television," said Jorge Camara, President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. "The HFPA board of directors felt this poster will become a cherished memento of the evening suitable for framing."

"We're honored to be given the opportunity to design the 2009 Golden Globes Award poster," said Mark C. Miller, President of Famous Frames. "We look upon this as recognition of Famous Frames' twenty year contribution to the film/television industry as the country's leading storyboard artist and animatic production agency."

The Cimarron Group coordinated the printing of these elegant 24 X 36 inch posters, which are printed on the finest archival paper featuring the embossed award and lustrous, gold metallic ink. There will also be a limited edition of 200 posters signed by the artist. Each of the 200 limited edition posters will also be signed by a celebrity at the Golden Globe Awards and be part of the "Stars For A Cause" auction conducted by Bonhams & Butterfields in May, 2009.

"The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards" will take place Sunday, January 11, 2009 at The Beverly Hilton with a live telecast airing on NBC at 8 PM (EST) and produced by Dick Clark Productions in association with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Orly Adelson, president of dcp and Barry Adelman will executive produce. Chris Donovan is the director and dcp's Bob Bardo is the executive in charge of production.

"The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards" will be seen in more than 160 countries worldwide and is one of the few awards ceremonies that span both television and motion picture achievements. For more information, go to www.goldenglobes.org.
