Harrison Ford Joins Michell's Morning Glory

Paramount Pictures has set Harrison Ford and is negotiating with Rachel McAdams to star in Morning Glory, a comedy that will be directed by Roger Michell, reports Variety. The Harrison Ford casting was first reported by MTV.

McAdams would play an aspiring news producer who tries to save a failing morning show by getting control of its feuding anchors. Ford will play one of the anchors, and the other will be set shortly.

Aline Brosh McKenna (The Devil Wears Prada) wrote the script.

J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk are producing for Abrams' Bad Robot. Executive producers are Sherryl Clark and Guy Riedel.

has Ford done a comedy... ever? and the last indiana jones doesn't count...
i have no doubt that he'll be able to pull it off, but i still can't picture it.
Meanwhile, McAdams is gorgeous and very talented, so this has a lot of potential.

You've never seen Hollywood Homicide? Albeit, it's not purely a comedy, but still, he was great opposite Josh Hartnett.

Concerning this film, I think the other anchor should be Bruce Willis. Two older action heroes facing off in a comedy like this? It has hilarious written all over it.

He has dealt with romantic comedy material before in Six Days/Seven Nights, Sabrina, and Working Girl. So it's not his first attempt, but let's hope it's his best.

Cool. Nice to see a new Harrison Ford project. Ford I think works well in comedy, although some of his previous attempts, like Hollywood Homicide, were overall just bad movies, but Ford usually the best part of it.

this has potential, so let's see what happens.

Hopefully this is Ford now trying to get his act together. I liked Indy 4, wasn't great but it was fun, and I think he still has a lot of charisma. Star Wars nut like Abrams must be giddy to be working with one of his heroes, so this will probably be fun too, and McAdams is one hot babe. I just hope they don't become love interests, they are just way too far apart in age, and when aging stars do that with up-and-comers, it just smacks of desperation.

Regarding what you said,Luke,I think their relationship in the movie will be more like Anne Hathaway (Rachel) pitted against Meryl Streep (Ford) in Devil Wears Prada since Ford's character is not easy to get along with regarding what I've read about the plot.

Hopefully this will be more like Working Girl and less like Hollywood Homicide.
