Summit Entertainment announced today that filmmaker Chris Weitz has been hired to direct the second film in the studio's "Twilight" film franchise. The film, New Moon, is based on the second book in author Stephenie Meyer's blockbuster book series. The announcement was made by Erik Feig, Summit's President of Production.Latest Headlines:

And I heard Taylor might be replaced??? Hopefully not. I think everyone had gotten used to him as Jacob.
I'm interested to see if they'll replace Elliot Davis as the cinematographer, and if they do, then with whom. I'll also be watching to see whether or not they'll keep Carter Burwell around to do the film score.
One thing I'll definitely make a point of doing is paying close attention to what Rosenberg and Weitz say in their interviews.
Rosenberg indicated over and over again in her "Twilight" interviews that she had severely stripped down the novel in her adaptation. Hardwicke also suggested that this was the case on multiple occasions.
If I get even a whiff of that crap this time around, I will at the very least be able to prepare myself for another mediocre film.
