A Nightmare on Elm Street Gets the Green Light

December 12, 2008

Producers Brad Fuller and Andrew Form today confirmed to ShockTillYouDrop.com that the A Nightmare on Elm Street reboot has received the green light with shooting to start in the spring. Wesley Strick (Cape Fear) wrote the script which is intended to re-imagine the dream-hopping teen killer.

But will Robert Englund be back? Read lots more here!

Please keep it more like the first one and not the comedy types that took off after the 2nd. Give us Freddy and all his TERROR!!!!!!!! oh and please not anything like that piece of trash Halloween remake!!! I'll still can't believe John Carpenter let Zombie ruin his movie.

Not a big remake fan, but the Friday the 13th reboot looks promising so hopefully this one will work out too.

I agree with "cmaninbam" that it needs to be more scary than funny and I can't say I care if Robert Englund is involved or not. I mean, props to the guy for doin the franchise for so long, but maybe its time for someone else to haunt teens' nightmares. But I digress.

i'm with Ezan08. Friday the 13th looks to be on the right track. i was happy enough with The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, though Nightmare means a lot more to me than either of the other two ever did. fingers crossed. and i love Englund, but in my opinion, a remake, by definition, ought to use an entirely new cast.
