Four Dragonball Evolution Posters Online

IGN has debuted four posters for 20th Century Fox's Dragonball Evolution, opening in theaters on April 8. Written and directed by James Wong, the adaptation stars Justin Chatwin, James Marsters, Jamie Chung, Emmy Rossum, Eriko Tamura, Joon Park, Chow Yun-Fat, Texas Battle, Randall Duk Kim and Ernie Hudson.

I really don't know what it is about this whole crop of films. There is SUCH promise, but something is either off, or was never there. I am hearkened back to an event like Mir falling to earth: Max Payne!

If the "evolution" wasn't there, it would at least earn back some points, but why not, right? Truthfully, I'm not sure what to think about this.

Well, it's based on the DragonBall series. Not DragonBall Z. So I'll give them that. I was never a very big Dragon Ball fan. But perhaps this will lead into a Dragon Ball Z movie.

And then my expectations will be high with such characters as Vegeta and Gohan in the mix. Maybe Frieza? That would be cool. But also, I think it's next to impossible to give the cartoon series true justice in a live action film.

The cartoon is just so darn cool. Nothing compares in that regard. I don't think it's possible to succeed with this series in a Hollywood setting. Although I would love if it was possible.
