Next Bourne Based on The Parsifal Mosaic?

Producer Frank Marshall revealed today at The Curious Case of Benjamin Button where the next "Bourne" adventure might be headed, citing one of Robert Ludlum's books, "The Parsifal Mosaic" as potential source material.

Q: What's happening with "Bourne" now that you have access to the Robert Ludlum library?

Frank Marshall: Well, that's the good news. We now have access to all the Ludlum story ideas. We're going to make the fourth movie from them.

Q: And Matt's signed on?

Marshall: No, the only people signed on right now is George Nolfi, the writer, and me. We have to get a good script and then, hopefully, Matt will follow.

Q: Would this come at all from the new book, "The Bourne Betrayal"?

Marshall: No, the "Bourne Betrayal" was written by a friend of Ludlum's.... It had nothing to do with us.... We want to stay true to the original character.

Q: Any ideas for a "Bourne" title?

Marshall: Well, there's a lot of jokes. "Bourne Again," "Bourne Yesterday," "Bourne Free," "Bourne on the Fourth." I actually want to do that. Call it that and release the movie on the fourth.

Q: Would you want to do a straight adaptation from one of the novels?

Marshall: Actually, there is. "The Parsifal Mosaic" is one that we like.

"The Parsifal Mosiac," not a "Bourne" adventure as a novel, deals with a U.S. spy who falls in love with another spy who is revealed to be a double agent just before her death. When he retires from the business, though, the spy learns that she may still be alive and sets out to learn the truth.

How about "Bourne Loser", "Bourne To Be Mild", or "Bourne Under a Bad Sign". All show how much Jason Bourne sucks.

I found the 3rd BOURNE movie to 'THE' best of the trilogy. A 4th movie, although a good idea, may hurt the BOURNE character. If they get MATT DAMON to reprise his role, then the movie may have a chance but I don't think it'll be as good as the 3rd, THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM.

So now they want to follow a Ludlam novel. Why? Bourne 2 and 3 had nothing in common with the books they were named after. Just call it the Bourne Legacy and come up with you own script, it worked before so don't fix something that isn't broken.

Bourne aftermath.

Love story will go in the wrong direction for this series. Also I haven't read the books, but I've been told that the movies definitely stray from the novels (still enjyable films though). I think Bourne should be the double agent now, give him some neurosis. Well maybe not. How about Bourne goes and kicks the shat out of George Lucas. HAHAHAHA!!!

This sounds interesting. Although the premise will probably be confusing for a lot of people. A spy who's also a double agent will definitely keep people guessing. Especially if her death is somehow faked. I think that story itself has the potential to be at least 2 movies instead of just one self contained one. They could even make it where the organization she does work for has something to do with her supposed death to throw people off track for twists and surprises.

They should go between this plot and him trying to find his past after learning his name in the third movie and like i said before on the first page, the girl should be Julia Stiles character, i think her name is Nikki Parsons or something, i forget.

What about the "The Bourne Legacy" written by Eric Van Lustbaster w/ permisison from Ludlum? I have the book for few years but hasn't read it because I'm afraid to find out what happened to Bourne. Anyhow, why base Bourne 4 from any book when Bourne Supremacy and Bourne Ultimatum movies were never based on the original books. It's best if Parsifal Mosaic is made it's own movie and not lent to Bourne.
