Just curious as to what the new, non-squid, ending everyone's talking about. Hopefully it makes some sense, or at least has the same effect as the original ending.

Can you read this one? If so, read the first sentence of the very news item you're commenting on.

Also, I loved the graphic novel, but if they have changed the ending for the film it's not the worst thing in the world. The novel's ending was the most random thing ever. Switching out the g**** *qu** with a bomb wouldn't change anything. Except make it less ridiculous.

Then again, the idea was that aliens attacked us, so the world forgot about its own wars. Forgot about that. So I guess switching the giant squid for a bomb wouldn't work the exact same way. But still, only a minor alteration would have to be made to make the ending a little less retarded than a teleporting, size-increasing squid monster. I don't know why so many people are so attached to that ending.
