Len Wiseman Helming Atlantis Rising

Len Wiseman has signed on to direct a big screen adaptation of the apocalyptic sci-fi comic book "Atlantis Rising" for DreamWorks Pictures, reports Variety.

Wiseman, who directed the first two "Underworld" films and Live Free or Die Hard, also recently signed on to helm another DreamWorks project: the thriller Motorcade.

Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are producing.

Created by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg, "Atlantis Rising" is a five-part miniseries published by Platinum Studios. The story kicks off when seismic disturbances at sea force world militaries to investigate the deepest part of the ocean, where an underground civilization emerges to engage in war with planet Earth.

Platinum Studios' Scott Mitchell Rosenberg is also producing. Randy Greenberg is executive producing.

Motorcade will likely move forward before Atlantis Rising.

What about "Cowboys & Aliens" ? Mighty sick of seeing Rosenberg's name four or five times every time a new Platinum project is announced. Does this guy really 'create' stuff or does he just pay other people to come up with it ...?

Not a big fan of Wiseman but the movie sounds slightly interesting. Never heard of this comic before.

Looking at the picture for the comic book I would guess Wiseman would want to have his wife Kate Beckinsale star in this movie as well.
