December 4, 2008

ComingSoon.net's horror arm ShockTillYouDrop.com has debuted the final poster for Lionsgate's My Bloody Valentine 3-D, hitting theaters on January 16! Presented in stunningly real, cutting edge 3-D projection, director Patrick Lussier's remake of the 1981 horror classic stars Jensen Ackles (TV's "Smallville" and "Supernatural"), Jaime King (The Spirit, Sin City) and Kerr Smith (Final Destination, "Dawson's Creek").

I actually hope that this flick will actually be in 3-D unlike every single other 3-D movie that's come out. All of them have been shown in 2-D at my local theater. Since this is the only one I actually want to see, it better be in 3-D.

The original was by no means anything special (though it would be nice to see the uncut version) but there is no need to remake it. I mean the whole story of a miner killing people on Valentine's Day is pretty corny but worked in the 80's. In 2008 it seems even more corny and now in 3D. Enough already with the damn remakes.

Right on Ryan! I'm still waiting for that Dawn of the Dead type horror remake, the one that blows the original away!
