Watchmen Gets Shorter

SCI FI Wire talked to Zack and Deborah Snyder, the husband-and-wife directing/producing team of Watchmen, who said that the film's final length hasn't been approved yet, but that it is getting shorter:

"We're getting really close," producer Deborah Snyder said in a telephone interview on Nov. 18. "We're at two hours and 35 minutes."

Director Zack Snyder added: "The movie's pretty long ... compared to 300, which was an hour and 58 minutes. The director's cut [of Watchmen] is about three hours and 10 minutes long. It has even more than the theatrical version as far as the detail that gets even closer to the graphic novel."

It doesn't matter how long it is, they already ****ed up the ending. This movie should not have been made without the original ending

I bring it on... We sat through all 3 LOTR movies.
We want the full version of The Watchmen>

Some may think the hype for this movie is bigger than the actual box office numbers come release day..
They were wrong with 300 and just recently with Twilight..
AND THE ARE WRONG WITH THIS.
This is something new and not the same crap Hollywood keeps shoving at us.

I'm with Snyder on that. Fans should be more concerned about the DEPTH and MEANING of the events remaining intact rather than the nature in which they happen. As long as the ending still carries the same point, what's the harm?

I'm glad we're still getting 2 1/2 hours though. And the fact that a 3-hour/40-minute long version is coming only makes me more ecstatic.
