Kevin McKidd, who currently stars on "Grey's Anatomy," told IGN that he's still a contender for the lead role in Marvel Studios' Thor.

The actor, most known for "Journeyman" and "Rome," says there's been "a lot of back and forth" but that nothing has been determined. He acknowledged that Kenneth Branagh is directing it, a choice that makes him even more excited about the film.

Marvel Studios is targeting a July 16, 2010 release for Thor.

I guess. I have'nt seen Rome on HBO or Journeyman. So I'm not going to knock him. is it me or has anyone thouhgt of Kevin Sorbo playing Thor. Regardless of his age? I'd see that happening, but maybe no one else will.

I say thee NAY! The Thor movie needs a name actor. Mc Kidd could play Odin but never Thor. What's going on Marvel Studios? Your casting choices in Iron Man and Hulk were great. Thor is perhaps my favorite character, and I'm getting seriously worried here... Daniel Craig and Kevin McKidd? No way! Thor is a handsome fella, just look at the reaction from The Wasp and all the other Marvel ladies. I could stand Brad Pitt I guess, but Leo Di Caprio has already had a Shakespearean part in his resume, he has grown into a superior actor, has the nordic looks,he is expensive, yes, but he will carry a whole female audience that would not care for this movie otherwise. He is not Titanic Leo anymore he is a grown man, and with about six months of intense training (and a wig) would certainly look the part.

Cory Morr...have you seen Schwarzenagger lately? Tne man is a mear image of is glory days of the 80's and 90's. He is in his 60's now. His job as the govenor of Cali has really took a toll on his physique.

Nathan Jones or Tyler Mane... with a lot of acting lessons. Both were in Troy and have the size (although Ken didn't last very long).

And for the love of Oden...if Marvel does decide to go with Mckidd, please dont give him that muscle body suit to give him the presence of a bigger body like the way X-Men 3 did with Vinnie Jones as Juggernaut, He looked so fake and ridiculous.

That prostetic body suit did look whack. Im all for Karl Urban as Thor. He was almost the spitting image in LOTR. And the dude could handle himself well in a action movie...just go see Pathfinder.

He looks ok but how tall is he? Thor has to tower over everyone. The Thing was shorter then The Invisible Girl lets not have Thor be shorter then the other Avengers!
