Kevin McKidd Says He's a Thor Contender

Kevin McKidd, who currently stars on "Grey's Anatomy," told IGN that he's still a contender for the lead role in Marvel Studios' Thor.

The actor, most known for "Journeyman" and "Rome," says there's been "a lot of back and forth" but that nothing has been determined. He acknowledged that Kenneth Branagh is directing it, a choice that makes him even more excited about the film.

Marvel Studios is targeting a July 16, 2010 release for Thor.

Well, I shocked. I posted for him as Thor a few weeks back on another Thor thread.

He'd make a great Thor, anyone who can't see it REALLY need to watch HBOs Rome.

Triple H...supporting actor (maybe), could never handle a starring role.
Brad Pitt...primadonna, and you better figure a way to ay the salries of the Avengers movie.

I'd rather see Alexander Skarsgard carry the hammer. McKidd is awesome, but he doesn't look the part.

for all of you who say that kevin is too small for the part, you are right, and this article isn't complete. i read the full article and he said he's up for the part of donald blake, and not a supporting role. he didn't say he was for the part of playing thor. they might get someone bigger for thor.

I read on another site about 2 weeks ago that Karl Urban was going to play THOR. I took it as a grain of salt because it didn't say who the source was. Either Kevin McKidd or Karl Urban would be fine with me. Both are talented actors that need the right movie role to break out and become a leading actor.
