First Official Public Enemies Photos

While a lot of photos were taken on the set of Public Enemies, the new issue of Empire magazine features these first two official shots of Johnny Depp and Christian Bale in the Michael Man crime-drama, scheduled for a July 1, 2009 release.

An adaptation of Brian Burrough's book "Public Enemies: America's Greatest Crime Wave and the Birth of the FBI, 1933-43," the film centers on the government's attempt to stop John Dillinger (Depp) and his gang. Bale plays the famed FBI agent Melvin Purvis. David Wenham, Stephen Graham, Marion Cotillard, Channing Tatum, Giovanni Ribisi, Stephen Dorff, Adam Mucci, Billy Crudup, Stephen Lang, Shawn Hatosy, Emilie de Ravin, James Russo and Leelee Sobieski co-star.

Two of today's best actors who are pretty much watchable in any film and can pull off any type of roll. I'm excited for this!

if only scorsese directed this but then again he wouldn't direct actors like bale and depp instead he goes for douchebags like dick-aprio
