Warner Bros. Pictures has provided us with the new trailer for director Zack Snyder's Watchmen, opening in conventional theaters and IMAX. Warner Bros. Pictures' big screen adaptation of the graphic novel stars Patrick Wilson, Jackie Earle Haley, Matthew Goode, Billy Crudup, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Malin Akerman, Carla Gugino, Stephen McHattie and Matt Frewer.

A complex, multi-layered mystery adventure, Watchmen is set in an alternate 1985 America in which costumed superheroes are part of the fabric of everyday society, and the "Doomsday Clock" - which charts the USA's tension with the Soviet Union - is permanently set at five minutes to midnight. When one of his former colleagues is murdered, the washed-up but no less determined masked vigilante Rorschach sets out to uncover a plot to kill and discredit all past and present superheroes. As he reconnects with his former crime-fighting legion - a ragtag group of retired superheroes, only one of whom has true powers - Rorschach glimpses a wide-ranging and disturbing conspiracy with links to their shared past and catastrophic consequences for the future. Their mission is to watch over humanity...but who is watching the watchmen?

You can watch the trailer in various formats here!

OMG,

"LEAVE ME ALONE" - Dr. Manhattan

Sooo fricken loyal to the comic panel. This will hopefully be the next "Iron Man" for DC since The Dark Knight practically made its own category of awesome.

Pfff.. another non-sense comic movie with free violence, 100% visual FX and zero script.
Sometimes I think the the script makers are 10yr guys. Hollywood lost all the innovation and imagination.

@ Jofo
You have absolutely no idea what your talking about. Read the original GN or do some research before you post next time and you won't look so ridiculous.

Looks absolutely terrible, one of my favorite pieces of art is being transformed into an unmitigated piece of garbage.

And to give my reasons (since I'm sure I'll be attacked by a legion of 16 year olds who never read the comic) I'll give them here.

Casting: Carla Gugino is about 37 and she's playing the role of a 60 year old woman. She had hardly any "young scenes" in the comic and the majority were of her in old age, if you don' want to double cast (which is idiotic) at least go for the one that's in the majority of the piece. A 28 year old Matthew Goode playing 47 year old Ozymandias absolutely ruins my favorite character from the book.

Costumes: Since when did Ozymandias dress like Robin from Batman Forever? Where are the bold, bright gaudy colors that suggest his over the top persona and his attention drawing personality? Oh I forgot, teenagers won't think costumes that aren't completely black will look cool, because we're making this movie at the whims of teens and not in the spirit of the novel. Nite Owl's lame costume in the books has been butchered.

Rorschach: Why is Rorschach talking like Bale from Batman? The guy is essentially a social retard in the comic and he can barely use cognitives, yet we have to have the obligatory stock phrases said by him for the trailer. I also don't think the word Watchmen is ever said in the comic, along with them calling themselves "The Watchmen."

Manhattan's Voice: Would it hurt them to use Auto-Tune or some sort of synthesizer on the voice. Moore makes it apparent in the comics with Manhattan's blue word bubbles that his voice conveys an omnipotence that the other characters simply don't have. Yet we just have Billy Crudup's regular voice, which looks ridiculous coming out of his body.

This is what I've gleamed from news and the trailer, I can't imagine how much of a butcher job they'll do in the movie.
