Warner Bros. Pictures has provided us with the new trailer for director Zack Snyder's Watchmen, opening in conventional theaters and IMAX. Warner Bros. Pictures' big screen adaptation of the graphic novel stars Patrick Wilson, Jackie Earle Haley, Matthew Goode, Billy Crudup, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Malin Akerman, Carla Gugino, Stephen McHattie and Matt Frewer.

A complex, multi-layered mystery adventure, Watchmen is set in an alternate 1985 America in which costumed superheroes are part of the fabric of everyday society, and the "Doomsday Clock" - which charts the USA's tension with the Soviet Union - is permanently set at five minutes to midnight. When one of his former colleagues is murdered, the washed-up but no less determined masked vigilante Rorschach sets out to uncover a plot to kill and discredit all past and present superheroes. As he reconnects with his former crime-fighting legion - a ragtag group of retired superheroes, only one of whom has true powers - Rorschach glimpses a wide-ranging and disturbing conspiracy with links to their shared past and catastrophic consequences for the future. Their mission is to watch over humanity...but who is watching the watchmen?

You can watch the trailer in various formats here!

IDK that they took the squid out, it still has the same moral and message. This will be epic and will blow The Dark Knight out of the water, as long as it isn't under 2 hours and 40 minutes....BEST BOOK EVER!

I thought the first trailer was better. This one was just put together rather oddly. What was with that music? I think your average movie goer viewing that trailer will be like wtf was that?

i liked it. i dont like that they are called the watchmen instead of the crime busters though. i have a feeling that might be so people wont be like "wtf? why is it called watchmen?"

The best thing about this will be Rorschach...as long as he quits saying "Watchmen" all of the time.

They never called themselves the Watchmen, in fact you never even see the phrase "Who Watches the Wathcmen" in it's entirety, I have to wonder if Snyder just isn't picking up on this stuff or if he thinks it's the audience isn't clever enough, or maybe it's the producers. I also take issue with Dr. Manhattan's voice, not so much the fact that there's no effect on, it's more that he souded like he had emotions, doesn't work so much for me, by that point in the novel (on Mars) he's pretty detatched.

TDK's trailer looked much better than this.
