Theron Joining Cruise in The Tourist

Charlize Theron is negotiating to star with Tom Cruise in The Tourist, the Bharat Nalluri-directed remake of the 2005 French thriller Anthony Zimmer.

In the Julian Fellowes-scripted drama, Theron will play a female Interpol agent who uses an American tourist in an attempt to flush out an elusive criminal with whom she once had an affair.

Production is expected to begin by March. The script is currently getting a polish by Christopher McQuarrie, who co-wrote the upcoming Cruise starrer Valkyrie for United Artists.

Spyglass principals Gary Barber, Roger Birnbaum and Jonathan Glickman will produce with Canal Plus.

Funny bit of trivia: the guy who played Tom Cruise's part in the original is also his official french dubbing voice.

Now, if people could stop that remake madness and watch a few foreign films once in a while...

Wow, this should be good. Charlize can be a great actress when she isn't in steaming crap like Hancock and Aeon Flux.

yeah man Aeon Flux has got to be one of the worst films I have ever saw it's up there with Pirates 3 and Doomsday.

The Tourist sounds good I am glad TC is back ValKryie looks fantastic.

cruise is a great actor. theron is good as well and super hot to boot. should be good

I hope their characters arent romantically involved cause shes like a foot taller than him and it might look a little strange
