Crispin Glover Joins Alice in Wonderland

Crispin Glover (Beowulf) has signed on to play the Knave of Hearts in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland at Walt Disney Pictures.

Glover joins Mia Wasikowska as Alice and a cast that includes Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter. Burton is using a combination of live action and performance-capture technology to tell the Lewis Carroll story.

The APA-repped Glover is no stranger to performance-capture technology: He worked in the medium for "Beowulf."

In "Alice," the Knave of Hearts is put on trial for stealing the Queen of Hearts' tarts and is defended by Alice.

Wow, Crispin Glover would've made one creepy Joker as well. No offense to Ledger's great grungy portrayal, but Crispin would've made one psychotic and more comic book-faithful portrayal. Can't wait to see this though.

oh dear god, crispin glover as the joker. someone give the man a raise. could just be a completely different creature to heath's portrayal. anyway, crispin rocks, and i hope some warner bros dude gives him some work.

I have dreamed of a crispin glover joker. Sends chills down my spine. For any doubters go rent Willard. He could fill the shoes no problem.

And yes I am a Crispin Glover fan. Don't tell me you didn't jump out of your seat when he launched off that box and busted a bullet time cap on Charlie's Angles out of nowhere.

crispin could have played the criminally insane, kill-you-on-a-whim-just-because-it's-fun, maniacal, hyperactive joker beautifully. but what nolan was going for, glover wouldn't have been able to bring to the table. ledger's joker was completley sane. he was just a brilliant, philosophical, (and masochistic) sociopath with a disturbing sense of humor. this is much more realistic I think...
