The Road to Move to 2009?

The Hollywood Reporter says that the Viggo Mortensen dark thriller , which The Weinstein Company had originally set for a Nov. 14 limited and Nov. 26 wide release, has now quietly been shifted until at least December -- and might be moved out of 2008 altogether.

The executives are scheduled to meet with "Road's" producers Thursday to discuss whether the movie will be released this year.

2929 Entertainment and Nick Wechsler Productions are producing the film, based on Cormac McCarthy's post-apocalyptic tale about a man and his son wandering a bleak landscape.

John Hillcoat's movie, shot this year mainly in Pennsylvania, is in post-production and decidedly not done, those familiar with the project said.

Not surprised. I mean, it was originally set to come out in a month, and there isn't a trailer yet. I think they've been planning this move for quite some time.

I hope they don't screw its release like what happened with Zodiac. I don't want to see another potential Oscar winning film miss out on the Oscars because it gets some crappy February release date or something. The Road was an amazing book and the film looks terrific as well. Please release it in 2008!

put out a freaking trailer for this movie because i'm dying to go see viggo in this movie, it sounds intense. Don't push it back too much.

The Road is such a beautiful book, i just hope the film is at least a fraction as good

NOOOOOOO!!!!! moving a films release date is like a death sentence...DON'T DO IT!!! at least not back to 2009.
