25 Minutes of Half-Blood Prince in IMAX 3-D

The last time we had anything to report on Warner Bros' Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, it was the decision by the studio to move the highly-anticipated sixth installment to next summer from its original release date in November. As disappointing as that may have been, fans who enjoyed the 17 minutes of IMAX 3-D sequences in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix should be thrilled by the fact that there will be even more 3-D for the next installment.

Last month, during the IMAX Corporation's 2008 Q2 Earnings Report conference call, Rich Gelfond, the Co-Chairman and Co-CEO of the IMAX Corporation told shareholders, "we believe this film will include approximately 25 minutes in IMAX 3-D split between the opening sequence of the film and the finale."

It'll be almost ten months before we'll see which sequences exactly will be in 3-D, but who knows? Maybe we'll even see a bit of 3D Quidditch next time.

In the meantime, you can watch the teaser for the IMAX teaser trailer which played with The Dark Knight here.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will open in IMAX and conventional theaters on July 17, 2009.

I am to upset that Warner Brothers moved the movie till July 17th but when I found out that there would be no funeral for Dumbledore and no fight seen I was really upset. When I was reading the book and found out that he died I cried these were big parts in the book. Anyway, I think The Sorcerer's Stone, the Chamber of Secrets & the Goblet of Fire were all great movies. Also, there has been talk that some of The Harry Potter movies are similar to the Lord of the Ring sires, but I don't think that is true because The Lord of the Rings made 3 great movies because they stuck with the story line and I whish The Potter movie did the same.

part of the reason the 5th one sucked for me was the stupid 3D thing. it was the worst. but overall the 5th is the worst one and i bet this one isn't going to be much better. thanks alot s***** director! :/

If they're not including two of the vital events from the book, this maybe the first HP movie I don't go see.

I hope this movie is good. I was starting to lose hope in this series after the 3rd and 4th one. Those were just horrible and awful. Thank God for the fifth one, which was easily the best. I think the 6th one might be able to be decent too. I hope so anyway...

I'm still sore about getting psyched by Warner Brothers on the release date. We all know they just wanted to make more money off of it, which is preposterous considering they'd probably make the same amount of money releasing it in November as they would next summer. Greedy pigs are ruining the country right now, and the greediest pigs sit atop ivory towers in Hollywood.

What repeatedly annoys me is the fact that Daniel Radcliffe doesn't grow his hair for the role - Harry Potter is not a frickin' preppie - what happened to the constantly disheveled hair from the novels? Irritating...

I was very mad at them for moving HBP, but now that I read the article, I am very happy. These idiots doing post production better redo some of these scenes with just a little under a year to go. If not, there will be heads rolling. What idiot would leave out one of the most important characters' scenes, aka

spoiler (Dumbledore's funeral) Yes I know that mostly everyone knows he dies, but there are people out there who didn't read the book. I hope they get on the ball and change a lot of the film, aka the Quidditch, what ridiculous costumes. Oh yeah and if they don't include pensieve scenes, then they are no longer idiots, they're retards beyond repair. Most of the book was spent learning more about a charachter we wanted to know the history of.

We didn't need 6 Harry Potter movies. One was enough.
