Knightley, Mendes & Worthington Join Last Night

Keira Knightley, Eva Mendes, Sam Worthington and Guillaume Canet are set to star in Last Night, reports Variety. The film marks the feature directing debut of Massy Tadjedin, who wrote the script.

Gaumont and Nick Wechsler Productions are teaming on the project, which begins production in New York next month. Gaumont is financing the film, will handle worldwide sales and will distribute in France. Wechsler produces.

The story follows a married couple, apart for a night while the husband takes a business trip with a colleague to whom he's attracted. While he's resisting temptation, his wife encounters her past love.

Not big on chick flicks, but it's an interesting set up that could be good enough if done right. And casting Knightley and Mendes (incredibly sexy in We Own the Night and in The Spirit trailer) are two steps in the right direction.
