Jason Statham Diggin' The Grabbers

Empire Online talked to Jason Statham, who can next be seen in Transporter 3 and Crank: High Voltage, about a possible new project for the actor.

"We've got a movie we're trying to do, written by David and Janet Peoples, in the vein of an old film, 'The Treasure of the Sierra Madre,' Statham said. John Huston's The Treasure of the Sierra (1948) starred Humphrey Bogart and Walter Huston as gold diggers who become contaminated by greed.

"It's not a remake or anything," clarified Statham, "But it's a little bit like that – about relationships and how greed contaminates the relationships these three people have. The working title is 'The Grabbers.'"

Statham CAN act. Watch "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" or "Snatch" or "The Bank Job".

But in action movies, it depends on the director and whether he wants actors or stuntmen. Uwe Boll ("Dungeon Siege") and Paul W. S. Anderson ("Death Race") don't need Statham, the actor. They wanted Statham, the action star. And that's all they got.

what's the difference between vin diesel and jason statham? both do the same type of movies over and over again, both do movies that might as well be straight to dvd, both play pretty much the same character. i guess the difference is statham is....well...he was in snatch. so i guess that counts for something...

first off, your mum is the lamest joke around. Its for people who think throwing the word "like" into every sentence is cool. And secondly, Statham owns diseal cus he's got some decent martial arts training and cus of cool British crime comedies.

Statham and Diesel have played different characters before. Diesel was damn funny in "Find Me Guilty" and Statham played the grifter in Revolver. A film where he didn't punch a single person.
