Edward Norton on Hulk's Future

The Incredible Hulk star Edward Norton tells MTV he is uncertain about the green fella's future.

"The minds of Marvel are sometimes opaque," Norton said. "I won't say [they're] obtuse, but I don't have any idea what they want to do."

He added he was not sure if he would be asked back for Marvel Studios' planned team-up project, The Avengers, scheduled for a July 2011 release.

"They've got this notion of collecting the Marvel characters," Norton said. "Who knows where they'll go?"

Of course he'll be back, just like I'm back at work every Friday to grab that fat paycheck!

I agree. I think he did pretty well as the Hulk. But I guess if he doesn't agree to come back, they'll probably ask Eric Bana for the job again.

A Disappointing box office, with high expectations for extreme profits on par with Iron Man, has given Marvel only one option for the Hulk franchise: Reboot. 'Nuff said.

Personally I liked both Bana and Nortan as Hulk so which ever one returns would be cool. Only thing is though if Nortan returns then they have to bring back Liv Tyler as Betty Ross. And if Bana returns it needs to be Jennifer Connely. Each pair had great chemistry with each other on screen.

Would also love to see an Avengers movie in the near future. Would be pretty tight!

My theory is that if he doesn't want to be a part of anymore movies, they will figure out a way to keep the Hulk as the Hulk for the entire duration of the movie, and maybe seem him on screen fairly less than before. Because unless they write him out, I don't seem Eric Bana returning or casting a third time.

And who knows why I was writing "seem" instead of "see."

Um, John Steed and Emma Peel ... they already did a reboot and this was it. Although there were similarities here and there, it is clear that the two Hulk films were more dissimilar than the Star Trek Original Series and the movies that followed. In the same universe, but clearly not the exact same thing.

Had this movie been the first Hulk film, the profits would have been there. But I think a lot of people were afraid of its quality, given the first one. Just like a lot of people shied away from Batman Begins thanks to Batman & Robin.

I would say that I don't think Hulk needs a reboot or anything...isn't that what norton tried to accomplish with this version? The Hulk just doesn't seem generally appealing to most audiences these days. Iron man and things such as those films are things noone has ever seen b4 in film version and it did well. The Hulk franchise I think is over....for now anyway. It just doesn't have the appeal like Dark knight and Iron Man have. Frankly it's become quite boring compared to those other films and I think no matter what type of story they cook up for the Hulk at this time it will flop. That's the reality of it.

He's prob niffed that they edited the film down so much (NOBS). But I hope they'll release the directors cutt, everyone will love it and they'll pull their fingers out and get Norton on board for at least another Hulk movie and the avengers.
