Diesel and Cohen Returning for XXX Sequel

Columbia Pictures is in discussions with producer Joe Roth for XXX: The Return of Xander Cage, which would bring back Vin Diesel as star and Rob Cohen as director, reports Variety.

The duo teamed on the 2002 original, which starred Diesel as Xander Cage, an extreme sports enthusiast who gets drafted by the government for a dangerous mission.

Roth controls the property because the original film was made by his Revolution Studios, which was also behind XXX: State of the Union, a sequel that starred Ice Cube and was directed by Lee Tamahori.

While there is no script, both Diesel and Cohen have agreed to return.

Im actually excited to see this. Diesel was supposed to return for the sequel, but his ego got him out of it. It'll be more interesting to see Diesel and Ice Cube team up for this, but i think that if this goes through---theyre going to let Diesel just headline this, no ice cube.

Finally, Vin Diesel is learning that the only thing better than doing the role that makes you famous is doing it twice. Hopefully, he'll do the role right.

Didn't he die? I'm sure that guy in xXx2 mentioned he got killed in Boa Boa or something.

Long overdue...

Diesel deciding that going back to the ATM (Fast And Furious, XXX) turns more of a profit than junk like Babylon A.D.

Yes, technically Xander Cage did die in a little prequel that was made and released in a special eddition dvd of the first xXx.

But if you've seen the short, you'll see that the way he died they could EASILY explain that he faked his death or something. It was definitely not definitive, the death.

If this happens I hope Samuel L. Jackson comes back too.

And I would personally like to see Scott Speedman back as well.

Ah, another $12 I'll not be spending on a ticket to a movie. The first one was ass, the second one was ultra-ass, and the turd (oops, third) sounds like a crap sandwich.

As far as I'm concerned Rob Cohen is barely a step above Uwe Boll and besides when he did a good job of getting killed in Saving Private Ryan the stinkulous Vin Diesel isn't worth watching at all.

I am quite excited to see how this all plays out. However, like everyone else, I am confused as to why he would come back in the third movie if his character was killed off in the second movie. Maybe this will be considered the second movie, and it will show his final mission in Borah Borah, and will somehow tie in to XXX: State of the Union by having Ice Cube come in to do the mission that Diesel died in the middle of, and he completes it with Sam Jackson, but then gets thrown in jail for betrayal. And then that's where The State of the Union will take off from (his appearing in jail for those who weren't following or haven't seen XXX SOTU). Does that sound feesible?

Ok yes he "died" but there is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many ways to change this. Like this sequel could take place before XXX: State of the Union OR the fact you NEVER see Vin Diesel himself playing Xander die, but rather the back of a bald head made to assume it's Vin. Also the studio made as dumb a mistake as when Warner Bros. original agreed to kill off the Joker in the original Batman movie. Now they realize the error of their ways.

Now, that all being said, I am looking forward to it. I like Vin Diesel and will I am sure enjoy this one much more than the Ice Cube one.
