Iron Man 2 Talk, eBay Auction

While there's no commentary on the upcoming Iron Man DVD or Blu-ray Disc, FilmCrunch says that director Jon Favreau and Robert Downey Jr. participated in a live commentary this weekend at Santa Monica's Aero Theater. Here's an interesting bit:

Throughout the movie, the actor-turned-director pointed out and confirmed various scenes which hinted at both The Avengers movie (visible S.H.I.E.L.D. logos) and the sequel (he noted that the terrorist cell in the movie is merely one branch of Mandarin's group).

For more, hit the link above! Meanwhile, much like they did for Spider-Man 4, Stand Up To Cancer has launched an eBay auction for Iron Man 2 that ends on Sept. 15. If you're the highest bidder, you would receive the following:

- A visit to the set of Iron Man 2 (one shooting day)
- A meet and greet with the cast
- A walk-on/ extra role in the film for the auction winner
- Photo tour of the set with an Iron Man unit photographer to document the tour. Professional photos will be given to the winner of the experience.
- Tickets to the Los Angeles premiere for you and a guest
- Winner and Guest will walk the premiere's red carpet

Very nice. You can check it out here!

i can't understand why there's no commentary on the DVD, Faveru said that there was going to be one back when he was promoting the film

Hughezy: coz they keep it for the next release. It is a common practice these days. Casino Royale for example. And I am pretty sure there is a Batman Begins commentary in the pipe as well.

Im all for raising a bit of cash for a good cause, just a shame they can't think of a way to do something like this whereby even the average joe has a cat in hells chance of winning. Like a raffle for instance.

after Dark Knight I kinda lost interest in Marvels light and fluffy comic book movie's they need something dark to interest me now.

Don't get me wrong Iron Man was good and all but I got that taste for the dark stuff now hmmm that sounds really wrong lol.

another person compares iron man to the dark knight, why am i not suprised.

On to the topic, the no commentary crap is Bulls**t. was there no room to do one? couldn't fit on blu-ray? also, just me but, why does blu-ray need a 2 disk special edition? isn't it like 50gbs in dual layer?

the movie was awesome, but i will miss the commentary

so they went and did a commentary this weekend at some aero theatre but it won't be on the dvd that's not even out until the end of september? - say what???

i guess the special collector's 6 month anniversary ultimate tricked out director's cut limited to anyone who has $19.99 edition will be released a few months later and that will have commentary

please check my ebay auctions in december for my iron man dvd boring regular no commentary edition

If you want dark Marvel characters, why don't you check out Daredevil and Punisher. Daredevil did the dark brooding good guy coming to grips with what he must do as a renegade vigilante hero and his delicate sense of right and wrong, long before Batman Begins and the Dark Knight movies. It was overshadowed by Ben Afleck playing the character and they didn't quite nail the darkness. And the Punisher movie which most people don't like again was very dark as a man transforms from a good guy to a vengeful, pitiless, vigilante. Just some food for thought.

well, i guess that means a lot more people will be downloading the movie, versus buying it.
