That movie was somewhat funny, but not much else to me. After all the pimping from Favreau about his "inde roots", "ultimate spy movie" feeling and the so-called homage to Verhoeven, I was amazed how the final product went completely in the opposite direction: fun but silly. Not all movies gotta be dark and brooding but that one was downright childish. Except for the age of the cast, there wasn't any "adult" feel to the movie; albeit I concede that it wasn't as bad as the FF movies or Ghost Rider. Eh, to each his own as they say...

What is with the lack of a commentary track? If anyone could provide an awesome commentary it would be Jon Favreau and Robert Downey Jr. I was looking forward to hearing that. This suddenly changed to a "must buy" to a "Wait for the obivous double-dip when Iron Man 2 comes out".

That was what helped at the box-office, Sting McQueef (trying to say that with a straight face).

At my theater, what I noticed was that a lot of the time, it was families that were going to Iron Man. In a sense, it really wasn't "adult" as there was hardly any profanity, no blood, no hard violence. But that allowed it to appeal to everyone and in the best way possible.

It didn't sell its soul like the PG-rated FF-sequel.

A commentary by Robert Downey Jr. as his character from Tropic Thunder would be priceless.
