The Prince of Persia Moroccan Set

Korbo.info has posted a first look at the Moroccan set for Disney's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, directed by Mike Newell and starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton, Alfred Molina and Ben Kingsley.

In the fantasy adventure based on Ubisoft's popular video game, Gyllenhaal will play Dastan, a young prince in sixth century Persia who must join forces with Tamina (Arterton), a feisty and exotic princess, to prevent a villainous nobleman from possessing the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world. It opens in theaters on May 28, 2010.

I love the game, but I don't think I am going to love the movie. I mean, seriously...Jake Gyllenhaal?? There isn't ANYONE better for that role? He BETTER NOT screw it up!!

Oh come on , I like J.G. BUt I must add my voice to and naysayers. It's 2008; you're telling me there aren't any english-speaking individuals from across the atlantic that couldn't get the role of the prince?

ehm maybe they casted Jake Gyllenhall because he is a big hollywood star and they bring in the money. There just arent really big persian hollywood stars so thats probably why JG is playing the prince. Besides he is a good actor so just wait till you see the end result before you start hating on the guy

I think J.G. Is going to fit the role nicely. I looks the part and he's a fantastic actor, I like how everone loves to judge a movie by a couple of pictures, you guys are such great movie lovers...

They've given the Prince a name?

He never had a name in the games! Well... ok he must have but they never said it.

It's like showing the top half of Judge Dredds face, some things should stay unknown.

I am a Gyllenhaalic...I love all of Jake's movies but I'm not sure about the Prince of Persia movie....Games that become movie do horrible in the box office...like Resident Evil they made 2 more movies that had absolutely nothing to do with the game...Bloodrayne that movie was trash and before you knew it was on DVD...hopefully Jerry B. And Disney don't make this movie crap and start adding unnecessary things into it...Jake Gyllenhaal is a great actor and he should do well in this movie...I'm watching
