Vin Diesel Directing Fast and Furious Prequel

Vin Diesel, who stars in next Friday's Babylon A.D., told ComingSoon.net today that he is directing a 20-minute prequel to Fast and Furious, the fourth installment in the Universal Pictures franchise.

Diesel will star in the prequel along with Michelle Rodriguez reprising her role as Letty and Sung Kang returning as Han. Diesel didn't say how the prequel would premiere; it could be on a DVD, online, TV, etc.

The fourth movie is a sequel to the first installment, and though Diesel didn't elaborate, we assume this 20-minute prequel will tie-in some of the events from the second and third movies. Rodriguez appeared in the first movie, Sung Kang in the third, and Diesel in the first with a brief cameo in the third.

In the Justin Lin-directed Fast and Furious, opening June 5, 2009, fugitive ex-con Dom Toretto (Diesel) reignites his feud with agent Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker). But as they are forced to confront a shared enemy, Dom and Brian must give in to an uncertain new trust if they hope to outmanuever him.

I can understand what Randy R. is saying, these movies are basically entertainment purposes only. Their will be no Oscar performances, or crazy plot twists, it's like an action flick for car enthusiasts.

I still don't like it though. I find it as entertaining as Star Wars Episode I, II, and III.

Oh how times have change. Paul Walker...Vin Diesel...Michelle Rodriguez....

Back when the first movie of this series came out, these guys were all supposed to become mega stars, even coming to the point that some didn't want to have anything to do with the series.

Funny how today there really in the same situation that they were in before this series started, and now they're coming back for more.

vin was cool in The Iron Giant. judging from that, he'll probably be a fantastic director.

Check out "Strays" from '97. Vin wrote, directed, and stared in it. Not a bad movie at all.

Anyways, I think he's a great actor regardles of what kind of movie he makes, he's fun to watch and he's also Hot!. I just wish he gets better looking chicks because so far all are horrible and lame.

Anybody seen "Multi-Facial" or "Strays"? Both written and directed by Vin Diesel. Pretty good ones, too. It'll be cool to see what he does with a Fast and Furious prequel.
But how about a more creative title than "Fast and Furious"? Some folks might get it confused with the first film. I was hoping for "4 the Fast, 4 the Furious". But, since this one takes place between the second and third films, never mind.
KoolKidsKlub, you need to quit hating. Vin's not bad at all, considering he's stuck to what he's good at so far: action. He was even good in "The Pacifier" (I'm not ashamed to say I enjoyed that one, it was a good family film from Disney). Plus he probably gets more play than you, me, or any of us.

I could be a pill, but I do see a need for the prequel. It would be helpful to know what exactly happened with Diesel's character from the end of the first one to this one.
