Collider.com got a chance to talk to Lakeshore President/Producer Gary Lucchesi about the upcoming Fame remake, which we've learned has just been scheduled for a September 25, 2009 release date. The highlights from their interview:

- They're going to shoot the movie this November.
- The students will all be unknowns but some of the teachers we'll recognize.
- The budget is around $25-30 million
- They're going to film in New York and the interiors in Los Angeles.
- It's set today.
- All new songs except they're going to use the Fame song.

You can check out the interview here.

There is no way you can top or duplicate that "take of your shirt" scene, or the thousands of people dancing on top of cars scene. This is going to be just another You Got Served PG-13 garbage.

Has Hollywood run out of ideas? What is with all the re-makes? While we are at it why don't we remake "The Birth of a Nation"?

Let me guess Miley Cyrus will do the theme song. An "edgier" version too !.

That's the most stupidest idea I've ever heard, even if it's sarcasm. If I'm out of line for saying this, I could care less. I happen to like this idea of remaking "Fame", this is definitely going to be R-rated like the original. How could use "The Birth Of A Nation" & remake in the same sentence? Go f yourself!

Keith, there's no way they're going to make this an R-rated movie. It's gonna be PG-13. They're gonna make the whole thing appeal to a younger audience and they'll probably have some MTV tie-ins too. It'll be just like High School Musical but with an "edge"!

You may be right about the rating, but, I seriously doubt that MGM is going to remake their classic movie into HSM with an edge. It's just going be a edgy youth-targeted musical.
