New Line is planning production early next year on an untitled drama about the free-jumping extreme sport Parkour with Richie Smyth making his feature helming bow and Channing Tatum (upcoming G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra) to star.

Written by Kevin Lund and T.J. Scott, the drama revolves around a pair of jumpers who use their skills in heists.

Parkour was featured in the opening sequence of Casino Royale.

The film will be produced by Temple Hill partners Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey.

I think Channing can pull off parkour...see the movie Step Up, for a white boy he has some mad skills.

Speaking of parkour...did anyone see that french action movie District B13? They mixed parkour with martial arts, the movie was a bit cheesy but the action and fight scenes were out of hand.

district b13 was dope. i think that channing can pull it off... i was against him playing duke until i saw some behind the scenes shots of him. so if he can go from dancing to stop loss (which was good btw) to gi joe to this im all for it.

District B13 was incredible. Well, not the story but the action was some of the best I've ever seen. Need more movies with parkour.

Can Channing Tatum act his way out of a wet paper bag? The magic 8-ball says "not likely". Still, the idea sounds decent.

Just wait 'til Mirror's Edge gets turned into a movie. You know it's gonna happen...
Hollywood studios have only three items on their agendas nowadays:
1) sequels
2) comic book/graphic novel adaptations
3) video game adaptations

...and any combination thereof....
Bass turds.
