Roth to Star in Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards

Hostel director Eli Roth will play a baseball bat-swinging Nazi hunter in Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards, which starts production this fall in Europe for the The Weinstein Company and Universal Pictures.

Brad Pitt is in talks to play Aldo Raine, leader of a rogue band of Jewish-American soldiers who wreak havoc on the bad guys in Nazi-occupied France.

Roth is in talks to play Sgt. Donnie Donowitz.

Tarantino is expected to formalize his cast shortly. He had planned to meet with Leonardo DiCaprio for the role of SS Col. Hans Landa, only to decide that the role should be played by a German actor.

I read "Roth to star. . . " and got all excited thinking it was reuniting him with TIM Roth, not that damn director.

Tarantino better not f- this one up. Seriously, I don't care if he's got a friendship with Eli or not. He should've got Tim Roth not Eli Roth. That man has only made three films and he thinks he's the God of Horror sometimes.

The role is right for him though. (Even if he can't act.) He seems blood-lustful and crazy enough where I could see him whacking people's heads and faces in with a bat.

And the other thing is, is Tarantino going to go through with his original casting ideas a year or two ago and get Sandler, Madsen, Eddie Murphy, and Tim Roth to star in this because I remember he dropped those names and Madsen even said he was written a part in the film.

i like eli roth as a person, i dont like his movie. i get what he is trying to do with them, but they are not for me. roth is a cool guy tho. he should have fun with this role.

Dammit how misleading. I was thinking Tim Roth too. I'll never get over his amazing performance as Ted the Bellhop in Four Rooms. Loved that movie to pieces. :p

Are you guys sure this isn't a mistake? I don't think I even want to see a movie with Eli Roth IN it, let a lone any of those torture-porn movies he directs.
