SDCC EXCL: Francis Lawrence Confirms Legend Prequel

ShockTillYouDrop.com talked exclusively to I Am Legend director Francis Lawrence at the San Diego Comic-Con today. The helmer is at the convention to promote his new NBC series, "Kings," but Shock asked him about the rumor of a prequel to the hit Will Smith starrer that made $584.1 million in theaters worldwide. Not only does he confirm they are developing a prequel, but he says that Will Smith would be interested in returning!

That makes no sense what so ever they all ready throw the book out of the window with the first one and now they're making a prequel? What is the story line here?!

Aw Hell no ! What are they going to show in this one ? More of Smith working out and trying to act like a scientist ? Denise Richards was more believable as a nuclear physicist in that Bond movie. Except for WS fanboys I doubt this is of much interest to anyone else.

You know what? I was incredibly excited when I saw this headline. Even let out a huge AAHHHH.... because i thought it was a prequel to Legend, the tom cruise movie. That would've been something.

How are they doing a prequel though? I mean.. didn't the zombies show up at the start of the movie... they can't really do anything before that, right? Unless they want to show more of the beginning of the plague with people still around but getting wiped out, and instead of seeing that he survived, see how he survives those first couple of years.

They weren't zombies and they'd been around for quite a while at the start of the movie :)
