They are really milking this series aren't they?
The whole fact that everyone expects a twist at the end pretty much let's them do whatever they want to the story no matter how unbelievably unrealistic it is.
Watching people cut themselves is really boring.

i didn't like any of the saw movies, but i didn't mind that they were being made until they killed off tobin bell. i can even see plausibly making the 4th one due to it being a continuation of the events jigsaw set into motion. but they have absolutely nothing to go on anymore. the only reason the sadomasochism vibe worked in the previous ones was because of jigsaw. whether you liked the previous ones or not, the 5th and 6th are going to suck - BAD.

to o:
they will only stop making torture porn movies when people stop watching them. hollywood doesn't have morals, and they really don't care about anything except the money they can pull in. if people wanted to watch *real* people dying, hollywood would probably put it out there.

I can see why someone would say the twist at the end of SAW IV wasn't good. I couldn't see the detective's motivation. Tawny Smith's character, absolutely! She was unhinged to start and went insane with a type of bloodlust. She wasn't interested in people redeeming themselves. But the detective, we see his exposure to Jigsaw, but noting to suggest he would flip. I don't know, could be interesting. I'm reserving judgement until I read something about the story.

Desmond...as for people going to this series because they don't like to think too hard...clearly, you've missed the point of the jumbled chronology and the twists. Because if it was meant to be mindless entertainment and that alone, it sounds to me like you'd enjoy it with your "black and white" view of things which seems to condemn the Saw franchise outright solely because of its graphic content and potential as escapism.

There is more to some movies than developed content. There is quite a bit of that BS going
around.

There are no plots in the Saw franchise, or at least, after the first one. Only plot HOLES, made on purpose, in order to make the basic gore fan coming back. Again, and again, and again. This is the best franchise ?

Who needs a franchise ? Nobody.

We only want good movies. And, except the firt Saw, the next ones are just very very bad, and only made for money.

Saw should never have become such a commercial franchise. Especially while the only thing they use to sell their movie are: Gore, more gore, and even more disguting gore.

What's the point ? Trying to hide that they don't really know what they have to explain in every new sequel.

And, WTF this new director ? Really ? The set director ?
'- Hey, who's this guy down there ?
- Oh, it's Harry, he's the sweeper. He's with us from the beginning, he knows everything about the franchise.
- Do you think he could make the sixth one ?
- For sure !'
