Do you know why this is the best horror franchise ever? Because there is a plot and a story that keeps me comeing back for more, the gore is an added bonus. Some times people hate movies for no goddanm reason.Like I hate musicals. That means I'm not going to like musicals and post things ****ting on a crappy movie. Some people don't like horror movies so they post stupid ****ing comments about why they don't want another movie there not going to see.Plus, name me one good horror movie in the past decade that wasn't a peice of **** I'd like to hear it.(And don't say the Host because that movie was a peice of badly dubbed ****.)

How was the fourth one not a good twist? It had the best one of all...NOT being a sequel. That was the real twist...it was basically a complimentary piece, because the entire storyline in 4 was going on DURING #3. If you want a reason from me, Desmond, it would simply be the clever stringing of the stories and all its twist and turns interweaving with the prior films. Anyone who knows me, knows these types of films are not really my thing, but it was the unique storytelling WITHIN a gory horror film that had me hooked from film 1. I Will admit as the films went on, they strayed from this format and have leaned a lot more towards the gore side. In film one, you almost cared about the characters(especially Danny Glover's role)That was the second hook for me, good character's in a horror movie, which is something you don't get often. Hopefully, they'll go back to this, although I don't see it happening. At this point it doesn't matter. It is the biggest horror franchise since the Nightmare, Jason, and Halloween series, and people will continue to go see them. I know I will. It's become almost tradition now to see these around Halloween time. :) Like I say to anyone who doesn't like a film. If you don't like it, you don't have to watch it.

First let me say I think Saw 4 was actually good, but it should have ended there. My fears are starting to get confirmed, this teaser is awful and the plot synopsis sounds iffy at best. I might wait for this one on DVD

To be honest, the highlights of the Saw series were:

Saw: Fluffy, light hearted Cary Elwes barbarically severing his own foot

Saw 2: Disgusting scene where Jigsaw's predescesor is crawling around in a pit of used needles.

Other than that, the other films are just a way for LionsGate to increase annual revenue with sight gag horror or 'I bet they'll cringe if we film this...'

I don't mind more Saw films. I personally think the fourth installment was an improvement over the third. I'm just nervous they're relying on Tobin Bell as much as Elm Street relied on Robert Englund. I think with Saw, it would be best to kill off the old timer and play on what Jigsaw has been trying to show us for 3 1/2 movies now: the real horror is what we are capable of doing. All the disgusting things to one another for pleasure, revenge, and simply self preservation. So why does it have to be Jigsaw, or his proven/chosen one, or his neighbor's babysitter's cousin? It could be random man who 'saw' one of the victims before they die, and decides to watch until they kill themselves... maybe out of curiousity... and he just goes on setting up his own killings from there. That would be horror to me...

Awesome teaser, totally had a religious vibe... then you hear neo-Jigsaw's voice.

I couldn't stand any of the movies past the first one, too predictable, but I'll give this a play on disc when it hits.

I agree. After this one, no more Saw's. As much as I like these movies, it's going a little overboard. Jigsaw is dead. This will be 2 movies that he's been dead through. Let this be the last one.
