MTV Remaking The Rocky Horror Picture Show

MTV is developing a remake of 1975 cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show, reports Variety.

Lou Adler, executive producer of the original film, is partnering with BermanBraun and Fox Television Studios on the new rendition.

The new version will use the original screenplay by Jim Sharman and Richard O'Brien but may also include music not featured in the original.

The director and casting decisions have yet to be announced. The original starred Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick and Meatloaf.

not once have I ever read the news of a remake and thought "why the hell would they do that"... but I think this time I will.

If MTV is remaking it they will target a younger audience and probably make the movie PG-13 instead of R like it should be

It's going to be Rocky Horror... but since MTV is producing the film it will be filled with Rap and Emo for all the songs...

I've been pretty much OK with Hollywood making re-makes and have kept quiet. But this? This movie is one of those classics that cannot be touched! It's ridiculous!

Rocky Horror is a cult classic.
You DON'T "remake" cult classics.
Its stupid and foolhardy and makes
no sense whatsoever. Why don't we
just remake "2001," 'Easy Rider,"
and "A Clockwork Orange."

These films were so great when they
were released that they created a
cult like following. Watch the originals.
Join the cult. We don't have to pretty it
all up just to the Zac Efron generation
can buy oodles of Rocky Horror hair dye,
underpants, and lipstick.

hope they dont put pretty people that cant act like zac efron or brittany snow. this movie is a classic. i would rather watch the classic than this new one. hollywood is shallow and it should burn and most of the actors today are pretty boys that cant act. tim curry is a legend. this movie is going to bomb at the box office.

Is there any chance someone can come up with an original idea. The only saving grace to this is Richard O'brian is writing it. Hopefully he will have creative control. But agreed they need to stop with the remakes.
