ComingSoon.net caught up with DreamWorks Animations CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg on Tuesday and learned that George Lucas is looking to repurpose the six "Star Wars" episodes into 3D format.

Katzenberg told us that Lucas is very excited about it and that he's got the technical resources to pull it off. "He isn't going to put a product out, I think, that isn't anything other than first rate," Katzenberg said.

Stay tuned for possibly more on this soon.

ENOUGH, Lucas! You're done! Get out of here. It just looks pathetic now (actually it's BEEN pathetic always). It's dead. Hit the road and don't come back until you have something fresh and lively.

I seriously am getting tired of these frequent Lucas topics and headlines. "Lucas makes STAR WARS TV show"... "Lucas decides to release new STAR WARS movie in theaters"... "Lucas decides to make yet another anniversary edition for the movies"... and now this one too..

After the 3-D ones, you could already imagine what the headlines will be after that...

"Lucas decides to re-release Star Wars Saga but this time...it's all animated!"

then a month after that announcement: "Lucas decides to re-release the animated saga 2 years after it comes out and make it a 3-D animated saga!"

and then after that:
"Lucas decides to re-release Revenge of the Sith Return of the Jedi but gives them each a completely brand-spanking new ending!"

and then after that:
"Lucas decides to make the Star Wars Saga a Broadway stage musical!"

and then after that:
"Lucas decides to adapt 6-part Broadway musical saga back into a 6-part MUSICAL film saga...much like The Producers! no no no, it's different because it's musical!"

and then after that:
"To stay hip with the trends..Lucas decides to release R-rated versions of the Star Wars saga into theaters!"

and ON and ON and ON!

Enough!!!!!!!!

How the hell is this ripping off the fans? If people go and see this, then their must be fans watching them. I am not going to see the clone wars, animated Star Wars doesnt interest me. 3D star wars doesnt interest me either........but hey if good ol' George is going to keep the Star Wars franchise in an immortal state, I would MUCH rather see Star Wars 7 and see what happens after.

Didnt read any of the books, but I would love to know what happens after Vader and the Emp keal over!

About a year ago, I actually saw a demonstration of the true "Digital 3-D" technology. The demo was the opening sequence to A New Hope. And it was absolutely seamless.

Course, weren't these supposed to come out a year ago for the thirtieth anniversary?

Hey, any new Star Wars material is great. And i don't care give a **** if he puts them out in 3D because at least I'll get to see them in theatres again. Some of us weren't born when these originally came out.

"And yet SW fans continue to buy 100 dollar Sideshow items and other useless stuff."

Useless stuff?

This coming from a guy whose screenname has had 16 more movies than Star Wars with another on the way.
