Steven Spielberg and Diablo Cody to Re-Team

Oscar-winning Juno screenwriter Diablo Cody has been hired to write an untitled comedy script for DreamWorks Pictures that is based on an original idea by Steven Spielberg.

Variety says the studio is keeping story details under such tight wraps that even dealmakers involved with the project were in the dark. There are no producers yet attached.

The project marks the second time the pair have collaborated. Cody wrote the pilot and is executive producing Showtime series "The United States of Tara," also based on an original idea from Spielberg.

she should not have won the oscar for original script. Nothing new or original about Juno at all, it's just a run of the mill quirky indie flick. We've seen tons of them before, and we'll see tons of them again.

Thanks RivenWinner!! I appreciate that comment. The movie was like "blah". I don't understand what is so great about it. I've many before like that. Plus, why is this former stripper chick being herald as a goddess for writing this film. I guess anyone can get a deal these days.

RIVEN & JULIAN, u both are right, it wasnt original and not just because weve all seen it before.....im sure u all know its totally ripped off from a korean movie called "jenni and juno"....whats worse than americanizing a korean movie is not having the common decency to change the name...she and hollywood must be dense...i hope that cody goes the way of the dodo soon....im sick of hearing her name and the words "oscar winner" in the same sentence.... i can only guess shes still greasing some "poles"

I see this chick as a one hit wonder and to me Juno was just meh. If Knocked Up hadn't came along it wouldn't gotten so much glory. Which infact it stole from Knocked Up.

Are you people serious? The mentality and opinions some of you have just baffles me.

Juno was an awesome movie, imo. And it didn't "steal" from Knocked Up; where do you even pull that kind of crap from? NOTHING is original anymore; everything that is made will have something in common with something else. But the ONLY similarity between Juno and Knocked Up is that a girl got pregnant without wanting to.

No, I'm sorry, I was trying to be nicer than usual, but some of you are just ****ing retarded.

tarran - im sorry but juno was not awesome..it was funny and quirky and a bit creepy at times (the jason bateman role) but it naturally did have some similarities to the characters and story arc that knocked up did. im not sure what was so amazing about it...the witty and great dialouge that is ellen pages' feat as it is diablo cody. predictable characters and outcomes? parents getting mad? teenage boy finding out he got the girl he likes pregnant? adoptive parents being overly eager and yet completely afraid? helpful funny sidekick friend? all written and played out like stock in juno and in knocked up. same characters and same roles. nothing new and shocking, just ellen page lighting up with the screen. simple as that. got people excited and wanting to see it. nothing original or awesome about it. period. obviously if you go out and see more movies these days you will find out that YES there is ALOT that is original, im just baffled at how ****ing retarded you are sounding.

I have to say that Diablo Cody did copy this script. I have read the script for Jenny, juno and Juno and both are dead on close to the same! I can't believe she is seen as an original Script writer. I believe it should have been an adapted screen play rather than original! Man have we all be duped in the thought that this person has been original the whole time! Man do I feel violated.
