EcranLarge.com tells us they have posted a new video interview with The Incredible Hulk director Louis Leterrier in which he talks about taking on the Clash of the Titans remake at Warner Bros. Pictures.

The project is based on the 1981 mythical adventure film about the myth of Perseus. To win the right to marry his love (Andromeda) and fufill his destiny, Perseus must complete various quests and battle both Medusa and the Kraken monster in order to save the Princess Andromeda.

The interview, which is in French but with English subtitles, can be viewed here!

out all the oldschool movie remakes....
this one deserves to be remade, I love the original COTT, but lets face it, the FX in the movie was cheesy. with todays CGI, a COTT remake will be huge!!!!!!
Louis Leterrier made me a believer with the Incredible Hulk....he is the right person for the job.

One of my favourite movies of all time and PERFECT candidate for a remake/redo.

Bring it on!

I've said it before and I say it again. There is no need to remake this film. The original is perfectly fine on its own. Yes,the effects aren't up to today's standards but neither are the FX of any film over 25 years old. Unless the story can really be brought into relevance for today's audience, just leave it alone.
In the interview he says their intention is to make this into a franchise. If so then why call it "Clash of the Titans?" Why not "The Adventures of Perseus" or something? They just bought a known name to use to get people a familair name, which as has been seen isn't always good (look at all the bad horror remakes from the '80s).If they want a mythological franchise why not do a new Hercules movie? He is already better known and has plenty of adventures to adapt.
Certainly, he could make a good remake. You also could with "Gone With the Wind" but you'd be foolish to try.

I agree with Wrathful Diety. If you look at the original, it's a great film. Sure, the effects are outdated (or as Angel put it, "cheesy"), but they still work! For the time, those were great FX. And for the most part, still hold up. However, I'm not opposed to a remake, to see how the FX of today's cinema could improve the movie. I'm all for it!!

As far as franchises, I think Wrathful, you hit the nail right on the head! A Hercules movie would be fantastic! Imagine a Hercules triology, with all 12 labors!! That would kick a$$!!

The Hulk was disappointing to me, just like the first movie. The CGI was cheesy at best, morphing was terrible. They should have had a better director for the remake of Clash of the Titans.

I think he'll screw this on up as well. The original is a classic. So sad....

The FX on real life scenes like helicopters and hummers getting destroyed were rubbish in the Incredible Hulk. Here's hoping the monsters look impressive and don't have cartoony movements...
